Wonder Woman 84
Bananameter: 🍌🍌🍌
I feel sorry for the man whose body gets possessed by Steve Trevor. In those days that Steve has his body, what has become of the man’s own soul? And how about this man’s life. Has it stopped magically? Where is his family? How about his job? Does he have his own lovelife? The questions go on…
The antagonist’s divine-like ability is no way in shortage of its extravagant exposition- allowing somebody to drop dead, super instant fame, sudden multiplication of nuclear warheads, getting millions in thin air, imagine the unimaginable…BUT…but for Steve’s manner of resurrection, why does it have to be questionable? This plot-hole does not require major attention for someone to get it.
I like Kristen Wigg and there’s nothing wrong about her Cheetah portrayal, but her character is a common movie-villainy trope. What a cliche.
And major concern, after revoking all the people’s wishes and things get back to normal-does it just end there?
Their memories aren’t wiped out (whether magically or scientifically) so they have to have recollection of this global catastrophe in 1984. Plot wise or for its continuity, it sure won’t take them anywhere good. And Max Lord is a blah blah character. Nothing against the acting, this antagonist-character just bores me.
The first scene with the amazons having an Olympic kind of event is so great. The mall heist interrupted by WW with the girl sliding towards big plush toys is so appealing. The road action sequence with all the trucks and tanks (and when she tries to save the two kids) is visually pleasing. Steve’s “fish out of the water” scenes are fun to watch. And my favorite, when she reluctantly lets go of Steve aka random guy (not liking this part) and runs so fast before taking a major leap (later on allowing her to fly) is marvelous. I feel her pain there.
So, so many things to like, major points to hate. Ain’t a perfect WW sequel. #WW84
